I have been away for a while so no recent posts and the amount of ink I have just keeps creeping up so I thought I would review two inks today both said to be petrol but quite different colours.

This is the ink I used for June 5th or day five of the #30inks30days challenge and right at the outset I need to declare I love this ink, it is a bright bold purple. I think it is the purple I have been looking everywhere for and I intend to buy more. This ink was released late in 2017, it is a limited edition ink from the Mont Blanc great character series, despite it being a limited edition ink it still available just about everywhere I look. As there is no Mont Blanc shop in NZ I have taken to buying directly from their online shop.
This is the ink I used for day four of the recent #30inks30days challenge and yes this is an expensive ink – NZ$61 for 50ml if I buy it in Australia and NZ$58 - $64.50 for 50ml in the USA. No matter where it’s bought its >$1 a ml. I start by moaning about the price because this is my first truly disappointing ink purchase. I saw a number of posts on Instagram and it always looked so vibrant and a shader but in real life without the filters……
This ink has been around since 2015 but it wasn’t until 2017 that I finally treated myself to a Mont Blanc pen buying a Blue Hour Le Grand. Of course by then the limited edition ink released when the pen was released was no longer available – I was in blissful ignorance. Recently a fountain pen-pal offered me some ink samples which included this ink, I snapped up the opportunity to try the ink in the pen of the same name.
