My penultimate shimmer ink from Diamine – Arctic blue and WOW!. Paint manufacturers describe this colour as a light breezy bay blue with a twilight blue undertone - whatever that means. I suspect the colour is simply because the blue is similar to the blue of the arctic.

I’m nearly at the end of trying all of my mad purchase of shimmer inks from Diamine. Todays is dragons blood which reminds me of cocoa shimmer in that’s its quite soft / muted for a shimmer ink and therefore quite useable.
I went slightly mad and bought a lot of different shimmer inks from Diamine, Some I have already reviewed now I am finally using the remaining inks, starting with Spearmint Diva.
I vowed I would not buy more of the ink studio inks because I think they are expensive and I really couldn’t see any colour that really grabbed me then I kept seeing this ink online especially on that rabbit hole called instagram and I ended up buying some.
Recently I manged to purchase a bottle of Sailors Jentle ink – purple 201 aka shigure which means rain showers. I was very pleased about this due to 1. My love of purple inks and 2.you now have to pay more money for less ink when buying this colour as its become part of the Sailor shikiori range.
Bungubox is a fountain pen store located in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka (half way between Tokyo and Osaka). As well as pens Bungubox has established a name for its inks better known as Bungbox inks. There was a time when you could not purchase these inks outside of Japan unless you used a proxy or a groupbuy. There used to be an excellent website called Massdrop that enabled people to purchase inks such as these before they became widely available in the USA. Sadly massdrop is a shadow of its former self for those of us in the writing community, luckily a number of American retailers now sell these inks such as Vanness Pen shop in Little Rock
Diamine steel blue is the first teal ink I bought and one I was never without, unfortunately with the number of new inks constantly being released it has been awhile since I have filled a pen with it, when I do I am reminded as to why I like it.
Diamine oxblood is one of the inks that always seems to crop up in lists people make of the X number inks everyone should have. Others that frequently appear in the lists are Watermans serenity blue, Pilots kon-peki and Noodlers black and Apache sunset.
Cocoa shimmer is the second shimmer ink I ever purchased. It is much more muted than many of the other shimmer inks, the gold shimmer with a brown ink is quite subtle even in bright light. Diamine inks are ubiquitous however I am going to recommend you buy directly from Diamine if you are interested. Obviously, they carry the whole range, I bought 5 shimmer inks, paid the UK price which is less than I would pay in New Zealand and only five pounds for postage (NZD$10, USD$6.25).
Shosaikan is a stationary store in Tokyo, it is quite ‘posh’ being found a very upmarket area. It can be found in Minami Aoyama close to the Omotesando station. Seiren (セイレン)is an original Japanese romantic comedy anime television series directed by Tomoki Kobayashi. It aired in early 2017.
